Peace for Paws

Peaceful and Private In-Home Pet Euthanasia in the Greater Las Vegas area

Every pet deserves a peaceful passing at home, surrounded by family.

Why Choose In-Home Pet Euthanasia

Saying goodbye to a beloved companion is one of the hardest decisions anyone can face. Choosing in-home pet euthanasia allows your pet to pass peacefully in the comfort of familiar surroundings, in the place where they feel safest and most loved.

Every pet is unique, and each bond is special. Some companions are most at ease curled up on the couch, resting in their favorite bed, basking in the sun, or lying gently in your arms. Our goal is to honor those preferences and create a calm, compassionate environment that reflects your pet’s personality and the deep love you share.

By choosing an at-home euthanasia service you are giving your companion the gift of dignity, privacy, and comfort. This gentle approach reduces stress, avoids the anxiety of traveling to a clinic, and allows for an unhurried, personal goodbye in the space where your pet belongs.

Compassionate Guidance During a Difficult Time

Making the decision to say goodbye to a beloved companion can feel overwhelming — both emotionally and financially. Because this service is such an important part of honoring your pet’s life, we focus on keeping it affordable while still providing exceptional medical care and compassionate support.

When you reach out to Peace for Paws, you will be speaking with one of our dedicated Care Coordinators — a local, compassionate team member (never an answering service) who understands how difficult this time can be. They are here to guide you with empathy and care, answer your questions, and help determine whether in-home euthanasia is the right choice for your pet and your family.

If you would like to speak directly with Dr. Sarena, we offer personalized consultations for a fee. These conversations are designed to provide deeper support, guidance, and reassurance from the veterinarian herself.

During our conversation, we will:

  •  Provide caring support as you navigate this difficult decision and help you decide whether a consultation with Dr. Sarena would be beneficial before scheduling.
  • Gently explain what to expect during the appointment, so you feel informed and prepared.
  • Compassionately discuss aftercare and post-passing options, guiding you through the next steps.
  • Offer flexible scheduling options to accommodate your family’s needs and preferences.

Scheduling an Appointment

Peace for Paws is an appointment-based service.

  • Appointments are recommended 1–2 days in advance.

  • A minimum of two hours’ notice is required.

  • Same-day and last-minute appointments are sometimes possible, but not guaranteed.

  • In a dire emergency, please take your pet to the nearest open animal hospital to prevent suffering.

Privacy and Support

To respect your privacy, Dr. Sarena will  arrive without a technician and may request your assistance in moving your pet afterward.

  • If your pet is over 25 pounds and assistance isn’t available, she may need to arrange help from the crematory for an additional fee.

  • Some large and most giant breed dogs will require crematory assistance and special scheduling.

Our Commitment to Your Pet

Please note that we reserve the right to decline performing any euthanasia if Dr. Sarena feels that it is not in the pet’s best interest.

Our goal is always to ensure comfort, dignity, and compassion for your beloved companion.

Sarena Olsen, DVM, MS, CPEV

I am Dr. Sarena Olsen, and I created Peace for Paws with one simple belief: every pet deserves a peaceful, dignified farewell surrounded by the people and places they love most.

My path began in Illinois, where I worked as a veterinary technician before earning a Master of Animal Science from the University of Wyoming and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. Today, I am proud to be one of the few veterinarians in the region certified by the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy as a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian (CPEV).

I so appreciate Dr. Sarena Olsen and Peace for Paws. Saying goodbye to our beloved family dog was inherently so very difficult. Dr. Sarena was so good at reading what we needed emotionally and proceeded accordingly. She was prompt, organized, informative, sensitive (without being emotional; she left that part to us), and she guided us through the process without being pushy and also making sure we weren't lingering and stalling out during the process (stalling wouldn't be helpful to anyone). She is competent, gentle and professional. Thank you for all you do, Dr. Sarena. At-home euthanasia and the professionals that are there to deliver are a GodSend, allowing you and your family member to be comfortable and stress-free.

Today I had to say goodbye to my best friend of nearly 14 years. The last thing I wanted to do was try to drag him into a veterinarian's office and have him go in a place that he was not comfortable in or that he doesn't consider to be his home.

The services that Dr. Sarena provides made this process so much easier on everybody. We were able to say goodbye in the most comfortable setting he could be in...his own home.

Dr. Sarena is one of the most professional, compassionate, and amazing people I have ever met. I would give her a hundred stars if I had the opportunity. There is a reason she has a perfect rating on her services.

Dr. Serena, THANK YOU for making this process easier on us, but more importantly, on my best friend. I obviously never want to have to refer your services to anybody, but, I can promise you that not only will I refer you to others in that situation, I will emphatically refer you to others in this situation.

Sarena is the best!! She explained everything thoroughly and was very caring for my dog. She made it as easy as possible for me and my dog. When she was done we put my girl in a bed and covered her up with a blanket with her head out she looked like she was sleeping. This is not an easy process especially when you’ve had your pet for almost twenty years.

Dr. Sarena was amazing - so patient, gentle and kind during what was probably the most difficult moment of my life. We were able to say goodbye to our sweet girl while she was comfortable on her favorite spot on the couch. Our dog was in a lot of pain, and we were able to schedule the same day. The entire process was very well organized, and Sarena's communication was amazing throughout the entire process, including thoughtful follow up. I love the beautiful keepsakes included so we can always remember our Abby. I recommend Peace for Paws 1000%!

My beautiful best friend crossed the rainbow bridge today under Dr. Sarena’s care. All I can say is thank you. The time she took and the care she provide ensured my family got to say goodbye to our beloved baby on our terms.

Dr. Sarena arrived on time. She is soft spoken and gentle in personality and you can tell she is doing this out of love. She was so gentle. My baby drifted off peacefully. You always talk to her and not an assistant or a machine.

She has the sweetest memorial in her car set up for my baby. She takes care of anything you want or need. Her prices are fantastic and she is patient and kind throughout the process.

Thank you so much for making our day easier Dr.
